Creative Aging: Storytelling with Photography

Creative Aging: Storytelling with Photography

Monday, March 17

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Telling a story can take different forms. Words. Drawings. Photos. Words with drawings. Words with Photos. Photos with words.

What kind of photos? Portraits? Landscapes? Details?

In this workshop, participants will concentrate on using photography and creating a rough outline of photo possibilities to tell a story of a person, place or event that they wish to investigate, document and share. They will use knowledge of light, composition, tonality and options on their 35mm digital camera or phone camera.

They will explore locations, settings, timing options and genres of visual art to explore ways to express their ideas.

This class is for older adults who like to be challenged and are able to commit to the entire eight weeks. The class will culminate with an art show (date to be decided).

Participants must have their own digital camera or iPhone.

This program is made possible through a generous donation from David Worby.
