We will focus on the novel by asking: How does Christopher perceive the world? How his manner of thinking, communicating and/or use of language support or hinder his navigation of the world? How do Christopher’s deficits and skills create or complicate the situations he finds himself in?
We will also use the novel to discuss autism by asking: What is autism? And how does it impact the way in which a person experiences the world? What are the differences or the range of abilities within this population of people? What is the difference between a person with Asperger’s as compared to a person with autism? Our discussion is not limited to these topics. Participants are invited to discuss relevant topics of interest.
