Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2024

Monday, July 1 - September 2

All Day

Come into the Library and join the adult summer reading game Adventures in Reading! 

Rules:

  • Pick a square on the board and uncover the title of the book.
  • Read the book, show to librarian and you will receive a raffle ticket.
  • Scratch off your completed square.
  • If you pick a book you have already read you have two choices.
  • You can re-read the book or pick a new square.
  • There is a wide variety of books on the boards so enjoy your reading adventure.
  • Winner of the raffle will be chosen at the end of summer.

First Prize: Kindle Paperwhite
Second Place: Gift card to local book store

Please bring your device and any passwords you may need. Charlie can also help you access our digital collections to download materials to your devices.

Children’s ReadSquared Summer Reading Program – Here’s how it works:

  • Read for one hour and earn a sticker to put on your reading log
  • Read for two hours and earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a gift certificate
  • We will have weekly raffle drawings throughout the summer on Fridays

  • Read books with friends
  • Discuss summer reading assignments as a group
  • Meet new friends in your grade & share book ideas
  • All books from your school Summer reading lists will be available at the Library

2. Log # of pages and write a quick review

YA Summer: Creative Mending

Join Maureen to stitch and sew. This mending workshop will show you how to fix old items of clothing, linens and household objects by turning tears and flaws into beautiful features. Create repairs that blend in, as well as bold or whimsical visible designs that add personality and fun.

Refreshments served & supplies will be provided.
